This year my theme for the hutch was Spring Green.
Our lawn is still pretty straw like but my china cabinet is filled with all of the green tones I could find in my decor bins.
Starting from the top, I used a verde green birdcage I got on clearance at Michael's last Fall. Shop those sales my friends. The glass plate was recently found at Home Goods for only$8.99. I filled an apothecary jar with some Easter grass and added some straw carrots I got at World Market last year.
For he next shelf down I got out some of my green dishes. The dinner plate is from Dollar Tree and the polka dot one came to me from Hobby Lobby. I forgot I even had this Welcome Spring sign but it fits in perfectly!
On the right side of the shelf, the same dishes and a floral spray from Wold Market. I don't remember where I got the bird vase but it usually sits in my office.
I am totally nuts about birds! I have to stop myself from buying more!
More clearance items on the next shelf down. The embossed green dessert plate is from World Market and the stubby butterfly & flowers vase is from Michael's.
I repeated the scene on the right side of the shelf. If you look behind the vignette you will see I again used scrapbook papers to change the look of the cabinet. I used to use double sided tape to attach the paper but, I found out about glue dots and they are my new best friend! No more ruined paper trying to get the tape off! I just love being able to set a scene every time I re-do the hutch!
On the last shelf, I set my ceramic sheep family in front of a piece of "art" I created on canvas.
Using some of my craft paints I created a field of grass. Simple, and yet, kind of artsy don't you think? I can't wait for our grass to be this green.
I moved the gardening book from the Welcoming Spring Tablescape to the hutch and placed a birdhouse, painted white next to it. A green bucket from IKEA holds some moss, and a couple of terra cotta pots I had used for my Spring decor last year.
A gold and green butterfly found its way here too.
I am so happy to be saying "Welcome Spring" with my china cabinet decor! How about you? Are you decorating for Spring yet?
