Welcome to Kathe With An E!
My loves include Mr. B, my sons, our Jack Russell Max, gardening, cooking, tablescaping, crafting & thrifting.
I am young at heart if not in age, comfortable in my own skin, wrinkled though it be. If I were to be compared to any celebrity I'd say Carol Burnett.
Not the young, funny, singing and dancing Carol Burnett.
The older, slower, but still funny Carol Burnett of today.
I began blogging as a creative outlet. Not many of my friends or family understand tablescaping or are into trying out new recipes or crafts. So, I have now found a HUGE group of virtual friends that "get me"!
I was born in Washington state and moved with my family to Colorado as a teen. I married, had two sons, divorced and worked my butt off to make sure my boys had everything they needed.
Then, I met Mr. B.
He is my anchor. He keeps me from spinning totally out of control.
He is the calm in rough waters.
He is the reason and cause of my laugh lines.
He is my last love.
Someday I may figure out what I want to be when I grow up!
Until then, let's have some fun!

Hey Kathe,
ReplyDeleteI've been perusing your blog and have really enjoyed it--I can pick a lot of your personality out of how you write and I love it! I have a few questions for you about how you advertise your blog. I'm not entirely new to blogging but am looking to expand my audience a bit. Do you find blog hops are successful, either hosting or participating in them? Advertising with other blogs? Having sponsors advertise on yours? Did you design your own blog or pay someone to do it for you and did it make a difference to attracting new readers? I'm on a budget and short on time most days (chasing a couple kids, a farm full of animals and fixing our house while being hugely pregnant, haha!) but I would appreciate any insight or advice you'd be willing to share.
Thank you in advance for your help you can offer!

I was wondering if you remember the brand and Colorado of your bedroom walls. Lovely shade! Just what I am looking for for my living room!

ReplyDeleteHi Kathe! I just discovered your page today and I am already looking forward to spending some time here! But I just had to write and tell you how (super) excited I am to discover another Candlewick collector! Mine began as a gift from my aunt and I also did not realize what I had until I started seeing it in antique stores. At the time she gave it to me she thought it could still be bought in stores! (This was in the early 1980s) And I also have added to the set the same way you have - one piece at a time, at "affordable" prices! Anyway, I'm excited to see how you've used it in your tablescapes, something I'm not so good at. I'm not sure how to NOT be a no-reply commenter so I'm including a link to my website, which has my email link on it. I hope that's okay. I have no blog - yet! Thanks, and see you next time I visit! :) Debbie in Houston
ReplyDeleteSo glad to find you, and I especially love the no rules for linking up to your blog. So nice of you. I am your newest follower, and I am proud to have your button on my blog. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi lovely lady.

Hello Kathe~ I am new to the Bloglovin' thing. I just singed up to read my blogs that way, but don't understand your directions on how to find my bloglovin' URL to share at your party. Thanks :)

DeleteHi Kathe with an e.... I am so happy I found your blog! There aren't many of us out there in blogland. Women of a certain age who like to do the things we like to do. I also have 2 grown sons and I have a daughter too. I have two grandkiddos. Isn't this the perfect place to be in life. I look forward to visiting your blog often. Thank you for the linky party too! Kathi with an i.
ReplyDelete:) I like your comparisons!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love this! Here's to still figuring out what you want to be when you grow up *raises glass*
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I checked out your about me page. Okay, so I accidentally clicked the button,,,lol Girl, you have some good looking men in your life! Your sons and Mr B are all some handsome guys! I love the Carol Burnett comparison, I think that is completely true for you! She seems like an awesome woman just like you do! Sometimes I will think something like, "I need sugar and I need it now. I'll call Kathe and Linda and meet for dessert." Then I have to remember that probably is feasible! LOL In my mind you two are part of my girlfriend circle!
ReplyDeleteI mean "isn't" feasible.....oye!
DeleteKathe, I love your story! :)
ReplyDeleteKathe - I noticed that you have a liking for Candlewick depression glass. I have a reasonable size collection of it and am looking to find a loving buyer for it. I'm inheriting my Mum's china and I just can't keep both. So, the Candlewick is going. If you are interested, I can send pics of everything I have. It was my Grandmothers' and has no dings, scratches, or chips.
ReplyDeleteIf you're interested, email me at [email protected]. (Put your name in the subject line or I'll think you're trying to sell me Viagra and I'll delete you.)
Thanks.
