I realized it's been about a year since I last did a post letting you get to know me better. In that year I've gained quite a few new followers so, I thought the time was right to share with you, tada!! 20 NEW Fun Facts To Get You Through The Day:
1. I am a speed reader. When I was in elementary school I was tested as reading and comprehending at a 12th grade level so, what did they do with me? Why they put me in an Evelyn Wood speed reading course! Yes, the one parodied on SNL. So, now I can read and comprehend a novel in just a few hours.
2. I am HORRIBLE at math!! Seriously horrible. But, ask me what the price is on something that is 80% off and I can rattle that right off! Sales are my favorite word problems LOL!
3. I was born about 5-6 weeks before my due date so I consider myself both an Aquarian and an Aries, depending on which one explains me best for that day.
4. I whistle with my tongue out of my mouth. You'd have to see it to believe it but I consider it an endearing trait. Others? Well they consider it gross.
5. My biggest pet peeve is 4 words long~ "Have a good one"! Nails on a chalkboard time! Wish me a good day, hour, weekend, pimple but, do not wish me a good ONE!
6. I've learned that regret is useless. We cannot change the past, we can only do better in the here and now.
7. I am deathly afraid of heights! Like, if I see someone else up high I freak out for them, kind of afraid!
8. I'm shy yet out going. I am terrified of speaking in front of a crowd and of meeting new people but, I don't want life to pass me by either.
9. Most people think I am a very strong woman. In truth, I am not. I just know I have to power through and then move on. Life ain't easy so, I cry in the shower.
10. When I am gone...like in another 50 years please...I would like to be remembered as funny and as a kind person.
11. Snakes! Ugh! Just even saying "snakes" gives me the willies! They are just slithering, moist looking freaks! I know they do good things in my garden but, if I see one when I am out weeding, that's it! Done for the day thankyouverymuch!
12. I don't have any stamps in my passport. The only foreign country I have been to is Canada and that was before you needed a passport to travel there.
13. I may be jinxing myself but, I don't have a single bone that's been broken. Not even my funny bone LOL!
14. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
15. The very first "concert" I ever went to was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at some place on the Gonzaga campus around 1970.
16. I still don't know what bra size I should wear.
17. I'm really over chevrons and Keep Calm.
18. I have no idea what my natural hair color is. I'm thinking it's a gray tone though.
19. I have spent most of my life dieting. Enough! I have hereby climbed off that band wagon. If I see I'm getting a tad fluffy, I'll just eat less but, I will no longer beat myself up over it.
20. This post took me longer to write than most tablescapes take me to set up!

Awwwww... this was a great way for me to get to know one of my newest blog sponsors better! :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same math talent myself- ask me algebra & I think you are speaking a foreign language, but I can figure out a sales price in 2 seconds flat. ;)
I also have never been out of the country, except for Canada. And yes, I also went when you didn't need a passport to walk across the bridge at Niagara Falls. I have been to Puerto Rico, but I don't really count that as out of the country because I didn't need a passport & technically it is considered a territory of the U.S. But Puerto Rico was definitely it's own unique place worthy of a passport stamp if you ask me. ;)
I don't think I am very good at math but I can add many numbers together in my head faster then doing them on a calculator. I can also get the right math answer in my head but have no idea how I got it.
ReplyDeleteI love to travel and have been to three different continents... I would like to visit them all.
I can speak three different languages ~ British English, Canadian English and American English :)
It is always fun to read this kind of a post. Thanks for sharing..Bonnie in WI
ReplyDeleteI love to read blogs. Feel like so many of you are my friends.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't write a blog about myself if I tried.
I am 70 this year and can't figure out how I got here so fast. My heart still feels like I am 48.
Canada is the only foreign country I have ever visited too and it's just across a short bridge at the edge of town. I have a daughter with The first name Blair from my first marriage and my youngest daughter from my second marriage has the last name Blair.
ReplyDeleteSo neat to get to know you better, Kathe.
ReplyDeleteSomething you don't know about me? I have a cousin named Catherine and was Cathy all her life until after high school when she absolutely insisted spelling it Kathie. Seriously. I have a feeling she may have even had it legally changed.
So yours with no I - I get it, Kathy/Cathy/Kathie/Kathe..........it is special any way it's spelled..........like me, I spell it as the French do: Michele - ONE L...not two..........and if you are French and your name is Michael, it is spelled masculinely thus: Michel. And to make feminine add the E: Michele.\
But a rose would smell as sweet if not a rose called, yes?
Hugs.
This is fun, Kathe!
ReplyDeleteI'm also an Aquarian (but I don't believe in astrology. :-)
I hate snakes too!
I love to read--read all the time, but I'm not a speed reader. I teach dyslexic children to read.
I'm real messy, but I have all sorts of random creative ideas.
I'm married to a music composer.
I've also been on a diet all my life (doing Weight Watchers now and loving it)!
I wear size 10 shoes.
I'm a coffee-aholic!
That's enough about me!
Laura
Wow, you are talented and interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm neither but I am a Diet Coke, Pinterest, Blog reading addict.
My first concert was the BeeGees
My natural hair color is ugly.
I'm afraid of heights, not quite as bad as you but......
This was fun, thanks for sharing.
I'm scared of heights too - I hate skiing above the tree line!
ReplyDeleteI can tell why we like each other so much!! We are alike in many ways. I am afraid of heights, snakes give me the willies, I have a passport with no stamps even though I used it to go to Canada, they didn't stamp it :( but I am going to get a stamp next fall (whoo hoo). I call myself 'fluffy' when i gain weight and I am horrible at math. I love to read but I'm not a speed reader. This was fun!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Loved this post. I am a horrible mathmatition too...but worked keeping books for years. Go figure. (Pun intended)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anyone whistle with their tongue out. Very interesting indeed.
ReplyDeleteI love these little quips about you. Thank you for sharing a little piece of yourself!
ReplyDeleteFun. I think the whistling one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting fact about me: I have an Oscar party every year.
I always love reading these these kinds of posts! I totally agree with you on quite a few of these!
ReplyDeleteNice to "meet" you Kathie. I love #6 because I agree that regret is useless! One of my first concerts was the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band as well, but in Greeley ~ and I went to law school at Gonzaga :)
ReplyDelete1 (w/o Evelyn Wood!) - 2 - 7 - 12 - me, too :) (Mebbe the ability to read fast AND do Math DON'T work in the same human ;) ?!) .... How about a "snakes give me the willies" story that'll also give you some fun facts about me??? I was housesharing w/ a friend ... who came w/ Sarge, a HUGE! snake in a cage - I didn't mind her three dogs + my two dogs - but Sarge took some getting used to ... well, about as I adjusted, we were going to move to another rental house ... and ... we hired a mover. I said to the lead guy in charge to please take every room EXCEPT 'that one' - because I knew that Sarge was in 'that one' and I was leaving that to my housemate ... well ... one of his helpers didn't comprehend a word of English, which I didn't realize until - "AYE!!!" the guy ran out of the house and refused to come back in!!! Something about Santeria ...
