You may remember a few months ago I created a craft/ office space for myself.
(Keeping it real here, that coleus plant on my desk?
Yeah, it died...as did that laptop...)
Well in the past few weeks I've made a few changes to the room.
I found an awesome large picture frame on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
How it was originally priced at $190.00 is beyond my comprehension
but, at $19.00, it was just what I was looking for at a price I liked much better!
I had a very small window of opportunity in the weather to spray paint it white.Mr. B added a picture hanging hook on the back and I placed it over my desk.
I used a dry erase board I had, a spice rack from World Market and
a cork board from WalMart (4 for under $6.00 and I still have 3 left!)
to fill inside the frame.
I just used 3M Velcro Command Strips to hold them in place.
Well, except for the spice rack, that got screwed in.
I even used a level (patting myself on the back).
Isn't this spice rack perfect for some of my craft paints??
I'm still thinking about what I will add to the upper left side.
I may use my Silhouette Cameo and put a quote there.
Something to do with creativity? Thoughts? Suggestions?
And lastly, check out my new chair! Ikea to the rescue again!
I love how it fits my back perfectly. It's so so comfy!
And, it doesn't look like a traditional office chair which is what I was looking for.
The white? Perfect too!
So, just a few changes but, ones I had been wanting to do
since I put the room together.
I just love spending time in my little creative space!

That frame looks great - so creative :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a buy on the frame. I like it above the desk. I like the chair too. I shared a plant killing on my blog this month too!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair! I didn't see it when I was at Ikea yesterday. Do you mind me asking how much it runs? Your space looks great!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! The spice rack for paint and supplies is perfect! I wish I could have a more "non-office" office chair. The husband likes his traditional leather rolling office chair; it's just not cute. Thanks for sharing your updated space at A New Creation. You're giving me all kinds of ideas if I ever get around to improving my space too!
ReplyDeleteKathe I love that large frame. The rack is great for paint. I'm hoping to get my craft area finished sometime this summer. So many projects and this one has to wait until I can clear out more stuff and make some room to create...but I will do it!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
What a genius way to use that spice rack.

ReplyDeleteHow do you keep your room so neat? My craft/sewing area is always a mess! Love your ideas and I agree with you about the frame, who would spend that much money on a frame?

What a fun update - craft rooms are especially fun to do! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo organized, Kathe! My craft/office space will never stay like that for longer than..uhm, maybe 5 minutes?! $190.00 does sound a bit much {even to me working in Rands}, but as you say $19.00 is almost a steal and totally worth it ! Thank you for sharing your update at our ALL MY BLOGGY FRIENDS party :-) {I need all the inspiration I can get as I am busy with a similar small project for my son!}

Kathe, what a great idea! I like how it organizes everything and still looks pretty. I do think that Hobby Lobby's prices are way high unless you get it on sale or clearance. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Jann
