I see others posting beautiful pictures of their Spring flowers blooming.
And others too, showing photos of the feet of snow left to melt.
We don't have snow on the ground but I am not seeing much of Spring floral showing up in many gardens here either.
All the more reason to keep bringing season into our home!
This time, I am sharing how I decorated the china cabinet for Spring.
Top to bottom, all to give me the feeling of Spring.
On the very top I placed a glass terrarium I purchased at an estate sale several years ago. In the middle is a garden cherub I have yet to place outside at the new home. And to the right, is a large, bright platter given to me from Ms K when she moved last year.
On the left side of the top inner shelf I have a fun and colorful flower dish next to a birdhouse I painted a bright white. I clipped on a flighty little butterfly for a sense of whimsy.
And to the right is a galvanized watering can I have had forever and a ceramic bird piece that my dad had in his room at the nursing home.
Oh, I forgot to mention! I lined the back of the china cabinet with some vintage looking fabric from Hobby Lobby. A few pieces of double sided tape holds it in place. I really like being able to change the look of the cabinet with such inexpensive materials like fabric or scrapbook paper!
On the next shelf down I have another colorful flower dish and another galvanized watering can, this one is from Ikea.
And to the right is another bird house painted white along with some faux grass from Hobby Lobby, a terra cotta pot that I dry brushed with white paint, and a bird with her nest.
On the bottom open shelf I have on display a couple of my favorite Spring dishes.
The middle one is from Kohl's several years ago and the other two are from a set Mr. B got me for Mother's Day a few years back.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Spring China Cabinet. And here's to hoping Spring arrives at any time now!

It's beautiful! I am so ready for spring. You've inspired me to start decorating :)
ReplyDeleteNice that your cabinet fits in that little niche so well and I like all the floral plates.
ReplyDeleteVery nice and cheerful. Spring has arrived in the desert: it is raining dirt now. LOL.
ReplyDeleteKathe, I love that you lined the back of your china cabinet - I have been meaning to do this but, just haven't gotten around to it. I love all your beautiful spring plates and decor. Hopefully, it will help the fact that Spring hasn't quite made its debute yet... Cathy
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and cheerful, you have a nice eye for decorating and detail!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, so beautiful. Spring can come at anytime, I as so ready!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Kathe! I need to think about doing something similar in my hutch, which is kind of a mess right now. I love the watering cans and I really love that middle plate you got at Kohl's. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteLooks like spring has arrived in your china cabinet, Kathe...very pretty plates...and the bird nest is adorable spilling out of the clay pot.
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to wonder if we will have a spring this year, too!
You've brought Spring nicely into your home.
ReplyDeleteYour cabinet looks lovely.
Have a great week.
Denise
That is soooo pretty Kathe - it really looks bright & cheerful!
ReplyDeleteThe bird home made into pot is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the tip: I have seen these fabrics back in cabinets all the time, but never thought could use double-sided tape! Dreaming on sunny spring weather in here, too...
Your cabinet looks wonderful! Love the fabric background as well as all your pretties!
ReplyDeleteI love your Spring styled cabinet! Love the plates and all your pretties!!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Kathe such pretty spring touches and I love the fabric back on t he hutch. I have a feeling here in Northern NJ we are going to go right into summer. We have had only a few somewhat nice days.

I love those bright colored flower dishes and the watering can. Today is the first day of full-on allergies for me. I had to run to the drugstore and get some allergy medicine, because my whole face is puffy!
ReplyDeleteNow maybe I will be able to post something as my phone was just not letting me do it this morning.. I love all your birdhouses and the plates... and well the whole display. You have such beautiful things and display everything so wonderfully Kathe.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! We're not getting anything very Spring-y here, either. Today made it into the low 60s I'm told (I didn't leave the house at all), but it sure was gloomy out there.
ReplyDeleteKeep bringing Spring into your house. The outdoors is bound to eventually catch on! :-)
Just the type of inspiration I need right now. I have done very little to spring up the place here, and spring is going to quickly turn to SUMMER in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty! Take heart...I just picked a daffodil! :) First one...the others might bloom in a few days ( Western PA here / a cold, rainy, dreary spring thus far here : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring decorations!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day!

I like the way the Hobby Lobby material looks mounted to the back of the china cabinet, It make a great backdrop for the cute Spring decor. Somehow galvanized watering cans and birdhouses trigger my brain to think Spring. Just looking at your cabinet makes me hopeful that Spring is finally here. We are supposed to have four days in a row with temperatures in the sixties. I am feeling very hopeful.
ReplyDeleteUsing double sided tape for the fabric lining is a great idea! I can't wait to try it out.
ReplyDeleteThose two flower dishes are so fun and colorful! And I absolutely love the way you've put the little bird in the flower pot and on that grass! Cutest thing ever! Great idea about the double stick tape -- that ticking stripe is perfect for your spring china cabinet!
ReplyDeleteGreat facelift for spring...love all of your floral plates.
ReplyDeleteLooks marvelous, Kathe. I know - it's chilly here today and will be tomorrow - winter is leaving quite an impression this year - spring and the warm days will come to stay - I BELIEVE! I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
So cheerful, Kathe! I love the fabric idea too! :)
