Over the past few weekends I've been shopping! I thought I would share with you some of what I found.
First up, whenever we get to the Southwest side of town I press hard to get Mr. B to stop by Kirkland's. It's about a once a quarter visit for me and I was anxious to see what was new in Fall decor. I was not disappointed.
Isn't this little trio of pumpkins adorable? $9.99. So cute!
I also found this little plate with stand at $5.99 to sweet to leave without.
The quote is perfect for a gardener like me!
Tiny treasures.
Just to make sure my bag was full, I added this to my purchase.
It is battery operated and lights up. The lights actual twinkle! Pricier than I normally like to spend at $24.99 but I don't see them lasting to any clearance sale, do you?
Next, I found a new addiction! Did you know there are groups on Facebook for yard sales with out a yard?? Neither did I until a few weeks ago! I'm hooked! Basically, sellers list what the have for sale, price & location. You decide if you are interested, let them know and then pick it up. I just happened to be perusing one of the groups local to me and came across a full set of silver plate flatware, service for 10, for $25, not too far away.
Oh yes! I jumped right on it and it is now MINE!
It is Nobility Plate from Oneida from 1937. I love the art deco design! Even Mr. B loved it and helped me to polish the tarnish off every piece! I checked eBay and I think I got a HUGE deal!!
We're not done shopping yet! Mr. B's mother is getting ready to sell her home and needed to borrow some bedding. Since she is an hour away, we set up to meet in between, do some shopping and have lunch. "In between" just so happens to be, wait for it, Kirkland's! LOL! Yep! I got to go twice in as many weeks! My MIL loves Kirkland's even more than I do, if that is even possible! Well of course, several new items caught my eye and came home with me.
I am such a sucker for decorative glass plates! I love the colors, pattern and shape of this one. It is for sure going to be a wonderful addition to my Fall decor!
Along with this gorgeous vase! LOVE everything about it!
We hit one more store before we went to lunch. Another store I don't get to very often because it's not close, Pier 1. I haven't been in a Pier 1 in ages and I was a tad shocked at the prices. Eeek! But then I remembered I had a gift card I hadn't used all up and Mr. B's mom had one she swore she was never going to use so, when I saw these salad plates, price be darned, they had to be mine.
Without gift cards, 4 would have been out of my comfort zone but WITH the gift cards, they were affordable.
You know I will be sharing a tablescape with these as the star soon!
How about you? Have you been out shopping lately? Show me your favorites in the comments below! It's cheaper that way for me LOL!

Well I just might have to go to Kirklands! Love all your fall items but that glass plate and vase...oh my, gorgeous and so you and your home. You know I already love the silverware....such a deal. I started bringing out a few tall things today but had Tiger all day so didn't get much done. I'll have it changed out by next week for sure.

Linda
I am green with envy over that silverware! I am a member of about 7 on-line garage sales and have never seen anything like that! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteI do like the other things you got, they just pale in comparison.
Some really nice and pretty things I like the "give thanks" sign I reckon they would sell out pretty quick
ReplyDeleteKathe, I've hit a few thrift stores and found a few goodies I'll be posting about soon. I am trying to resist anything new for Fall. I have too darn much! lol! You found some great items! Yes, I knew about indoor yard sales. My dil has bought some fabulous things. I am trying to not visit the site, just really don't need a thing. I love the hunt at the thrift store so I can't give that up. Hee-hee! Good excuse, right? Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Our Kirkland's closed and left us without a place to shop for cute decor things. Love the pumpkin trio and the sign. Now I will have to look to see if there are FB yard sales near me. I would like to invite you to link up this post to Make It Monday - http://distresseddonnadownhome.blogspot.com/2014/09/make-it-monday-2.html

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to use your gift card and your goodies are gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you do with those salad plates!
ReplyDeleteI may cry! That is my momma's silverware! We grew up using it everyday! It was great on a Sunday table too after she and Daddy finally got that china they wanted. I have never seen it at flea markets, etc. But now, I will be looking again.
