Top 5 Christmas Movies

Last week you will remember I shared my Top 5 Non-Traditional Traditional Christmas Movies. Some of you made awesome suggestions of some new ones I need to watch and perhaps expand my list!
Thank you!

This week, as promised, I am sharing my Top 5 Christmas Movies.
Movies that Mr. B and I watch every year as part of our own holiday tradition. In no particular order, here they are:

Meet Me In St. Louis - 1945 - Starring Judy Garland

The Shop Around The Corner - 1940 - Starring Jimmy Stewart

Elf - 2003 - Starring Will Farrell

A Christmas Story - 1983 - Starring Peter Billingsley

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Animated Version) - 1966- Starring - The voice of Boris Karloff

Now, I know every list should include It's A Wonderful Life but, Mr. B finds the movie depressing so it doesn't make our list.
The Shop Around the Corner can be substituted with In The Good Old Summertime or You've Got Mail as the story lines and even some of the exact wording from each script are the same (which irritated the beejeezus out of Mr. B when he found out by watching all three with me one day LOL!)

And of course, many have Die Hard on their list but, in my opinion, it is an action movie that can be enjoyed anytime and not a must see during the holiday.

So, again I ask, agree?  Disagree?  Am I missing any other Christmas movies that you just know we have to add to our list??

  6. Meet Me In St Louis and A Christmas Story classics.
Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire is on the top of my list.

  7. I have to add one more A Child Christmas In Wales written by Dylan Thomas.
It's a 1987 television film starring Denholm Elliott.
