One of the benefits of moving into a newer home is that there isn't really much to do in regards any updating. Oh some paint here and there maybe and doing those little things that make it "our" home but, nothing major really needs to be done.
Of course, after we had been in our new home for a few months, there were some things that did bug us. One issue was the faucet in the kitchen. It's not that it didn't work well, it's just that is was not our style. We are simpler folk and the setup that came with the house was, in Mr. B's words, too frilly and fussy. So, when the opportunity arrived in my email box from Friends of Pfister to do a faucet review I seriously jumped at the chance!!!
One of my requirements in a kitchen faucet is that it be a gooseneck. When it comes time for me to fill a large pot with water for canning, or when Mr. B is brewing beer, neither of us wants to fight the pot or the faucet to get it filled! I had a choice of many faucets and it was so hard to choose. Just to share a few of my faves:
To check out their selection for yourself, head on over to Pfister!
Every fixture in our house is a Tuscan Bronze so the finish wasn't hard for us to choose. After much discussion, we both agreed on this one:
The Wheaton. Nice high neck, not too ornate, simple and traditional,
just like us!
Now, don't let this picture fool you. Mr. B is not a plumber but, he said the installation was super easy! The hardest part of the project was taking everything out from under the sink and removing the old faucet.
(I was, thankfully, away visiting my grandson when he installed it!)
The old faucet required 4 holes but, the Pfister did not. No worries! It came with a deckplate that covered the unneeded holes!
I am just loving how sleek and, well, pretty it looks!
I was iffy on the pull down sprayer at first but, the Wheaton features an advanced docking system - one quick snap guarantees the spray head stays securely in place after every use.SOLD!
You can check out the video to learn more on how the docking system works here.
Now for the true test! Did it meet our requirements for easily filling large pots?
Why, yes it did!
With pah-lenty of room to spare I might add!

ReplyDeleteI would probably choose a new bathroom faucet...although, your kitchen one is GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteI would choose a new kitchen faucet because that's where I spend all my time these days!
ReplyDeleteI would choose a ktichen faucet - probably the one you chose. We just built our house - it will be two years in February since we have moved in. The one thing they would not do for us was the antique bronze faucet in the kitchen. They did it everywhere else in the house from hardware to cabinet knobs to plumbing - all but the kitchen. We paid to upgrade all of it. They would not let us do an upgrade on the kitchen faucet. I feel sort of guilty spending the money to replace a perfectly good faucet, but if I were to win one? No guilt at all!
ReplyDeleteI would choose a kitchen faucet. Ours is terrible and ugly!
ReplyDeleteI would pick a new kitchen faucet

ReplyDeleteHi, I like a pull off faucet end like this one you featured in the post. They are very handy for cooking and cleaning. You pull it out and fill up a dirty casserole dish to soak that is on on the counter. A kitchen or bathroom faucet would be Grreat!
ReplyDeleteI need a new kitchen faucet so bad.

ReplyDeleteI would totally copy you and replace my kitchen faucet for the same reasons..and I think maybe even choose the same faucet!
ReplyDeleteHands down - Kitchen Faucet! I although I "participated" in the ill-fated decision to purchase this model of faucet - we have regreted it pretty much since the day it was installed! I didn't realize how much I genuinely dislike it until I came across this post & giveaway and I realized that I was looking longingly at a picture of a kitchen faucet! Thanks!

I'm thinking I would replace the kitchen faucet because it needs it far more than the bathroom. The bathroom was updated fairly recently but it has been quite awhile for the kitchen and a new faucet would be a good beginning.
ReplyDeleteI would choose the bathroom faucet....kids have ruined the one in there.
ReplyDeleteSamantha V.
I would get a kitchen faucet.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a bathroom faucet. I have one that the finish is blistering and peeling on!
