Yes, it was in the 60's.
And yes, it is now cold.
Yes, it is still winter here so, I decided to set,
what I hope to be, my final tablescape for this season.
I had purchased this set of 4 snowman plates at Goodwill several years ago.
I paid 49 cents each for them at the time.
Each one has a different snowman scene on them.
Then, on a different shopping trip to Goodwill I found the matching mugs!
Also on sale for 49 cents each!
What I especially love about them is that they all have red cardinals on them. My favorite bird even though we don't see them here.
I chose a red charger to compliment the sweet birds.
The napkins were another thrift store find at $1.50 for four of them.
Small rectangular blue baking dishes from Michael's at each setting
hold the makings for hot cocoa to keep us warm.
The centerpiece is a gathering of my favorite snowmen and women that I saved out
when we packed Christmas away.
My mother-in-law loves snowmen. She says they are always happy.
Look how happy they look sitting on those rounds of ice!
Snowflake votives from Yankee candle must be helping to keep them warm.Or, maybe it's the snowflake tapers set high in crystal holders?
I wonder if they will be as happy as I will be to see Spring arrive?
I know the warm sun will melt them away but, I know too
that summer will pass too quickly and
the snowmen will once again make an appearance on my lawn
and on my table.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! I want to come over and sit at that table for some hot coco.. "Let It Snow" is the appropriate name for it around here too. At least for the last couple of days :)
ReplyDeleteThey always make snowmen cute. It must be so we forget that they are connected to SNOW. Nice job, Kathe.
ReplyDeleteHow cute your snowmen are! The display with cocoa and marshmallows is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love your table! Absolutely adorable....and I'm with your mom! Snowmen and ladies always look happy...:) I have quite a collection of them that I display at Christmas and just love them. What a steal you got on those plates and cups! Nice job...thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteAdorable tablesetting, Kathe. Just adorable. Well, we are still in winter, right, so the little snowmen are very appropriate and oh so cute. Susan
ReplyDeleteYour mother-in-law is right Kathe - they are happy & bright & what a fab idea to keep them out to enjoy now as well.

What fabulous finds, and I love that you decorate with your cocoa fixings, that is an adorable idea!! What a perfect thing to set out for when the kiddos are done playing outside!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun table! I love the candles with the snow flakes!
ReplyDeleteYour darling snowmen-themed items make a very inviting table! I love the deep blue of the runner and the dishes. But I was surprised to read that you don't have cardinals where you live! I guess we just take them for granted here in central Texas! We've been having spring one day and winter the next. Today our highs will be in the mid-70s!
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish I hadn't packed my Snowmen stuff away a Christmas! Especially with the kind of day were having in North Arkansas today! Rain, thunder, sleet, ice and snow! I love your table setting!
ReplyDeleteYour table makes winter look fun! Great job!
ReplyDeleteCute table...we have about 9" fresh snow on the ground!
ReplyDeleteCardinals are my mom's favorite bird. :) Your setting is great, the snowmen are adorable.

Super cute Kathe!!!
ReplyDeleteKathe, how amazing that you found the mugs on a different trip. These are darling plates! Love little snowmen! I'm with you though. I'm ready to move on to spring, but it's cold here again today.
ReplyDeleteHi there, Kathe!!! I hope the new gig is going well!!! I'm also glad that you still have time to do neat tablescapes like this one! Isn't it weird when the weather turns from the 60s into the deep freeze in a matter of a couple of days??!?!?! I hope it's the last winter one you'll have to contend with, too, but you went out of the winter tablescaping with a bang! Have a cozy weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww Kathe, that is so very cute, your post cools me down from our horrid Summer heat :)
ReplyDeleteOh so darling! We all need some snow people to make us smile.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.

ReplyDeleteHow do you find such wonderful Goodwill deals?! I never have such luck! Your table is lovely and so inviting. Love the touch of marshmallows, although I must admit, if I were you guest I'd have to resist the temptation to build them into little snowmen to match the table!

ReplyDeleteI posted recently how the house seems so drab when you put away the Christmas decorations. I also decorate with snowmen through the winter, They're chubby and cute and you can't help but smile when you see them. I have a free snowman sign pattern that would be perfect for your setting...it's even blue. Here's the link -
