So, you read about the fun I had
last weekend at the
I Love Thrifting
gathering here
You also saw my teaser of what I got!
I am pretty certain you want to see more than that!
And more there is!
Come along while I show you my
thrifty treasures!
Our first stop was the new Goodwill
at Stapleton.
This is where most of my bounty was found.
I am always on the look at for unusual
placemats and these caught my eye right away!
Remember, it was 50% off day at all Denver area Goodwills!
I paid $2.00 for four the four of these
woven oval placemats.
Of course, I also like traditional so, I
grabbed up four of these red chargers.
See the original price there from JCP? $$7.99?
For plastic?
Um no! $1.00 each to me!
Cheap enough that I plan to spray paint them
as needed for a future tablescape.
My new thrifting best friend, Elaine from
convinced me I needed to get these
metal chargers.
At 50 cents for four, she clued me in to the fact
that they are even easier to spray paint!
Now THAT'S a thrifting buddy!
Now THAT'S a thrifting buddy!
Next to jump into my cart were a set of four
Gibson salad plates.
Again, only 50 cents each.
Look for these to be used for a tablescape very soon!
Maybe they will be used with these?
Over sized, off white dinner plates
with a dark tan rim.
I'm not familiar with the mark but,
I think they were sold at Target for period of time.
I think they were sold at Target for period of time.
at $1.00 each, I HAD to have them!
This was probably my most impulsive purchase of the whole day.
I saw it and immediately thought of spray painting it too
and using it for eggs at Easter.
At $2.00 I didn't think it was that bad of a deal until,
the next day Mr. B & I were at the Dollar Tree
and I saw the same exact one for, yeah, a dollar.
Tell me you have made the same mistake
and make me feel better please?
When I saw these, I remembered another tablescaping blogger
saying, you should always think at least one
season or holiday ahead.
Well, I was thinking almost a year ahead.
Are thinking about Cinco De Mayo yet?
At $4.00 for the pair I am!
The shape and color of this vase had me thinking of Fall.
Or, maybe filled with some daisies from my garden.
Summer? Spring? Anytime?
they both thought it was totally something
from the Young House Love blog.
He will be getting a coat of white spray paint soon.
When I am out thrifting
I always make sure to check out the textiles.
I always make sure to check out the textiles.
I loved these as soon as I saw them!
$1.50 for a set of four Martha Stewart Living placemats.
Next to hit my cart were these pretty
glass candle holders
$5.00 total for the pair!
I think they could also look cute
with a bacon maple cupcake sitting on them!
I have been on the look out for one of these.
And was very happy to find it for only $1.00!
I think this piece will pair nicely with the placemats shown above.
I forgot to get the price but I think it was $2.50.
from the Stapleton Denver Goodwill.
After a carb loading lunch
we headed off to another new Denver Goodwill
at I-25 and Monaco.
There wasn't much that called my name
at this location.
But I think I did okay.
Again, am I thinking ahead to Fall?
The salad plates and matching bowls were 25 cents each!
And how about some goblets to go with them?
$1.50 each
Okay I know I have a Pin somewhere
of what I want to use these for
but I can't find it right off.
Trust me, it's really pretty.
$4.50 for the triplets.
I think this runner will be really pretty on the buffet
during the winter holidays.
It's got the right amount of sheen to it.
$1.50 to dress up the buffet!
And finally,
what I showed as the teaser
A pair of silver plate
heart shaped candy dishes.
A tad tarnished.
But, at $1.00 each I think they will
clean up nicely!
So there you go!
My
I Love Thrifting day treasures.
It was an awesome day
spent with wonderful new friends!
I wish all of you could have been there!
Maybe next year?

Now that is a true blogger, Kathe, buying ahead for Cinco de Mayo!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteCinco de Mayo is my birthday, I'll be 25 on the next one! I just assume everything done for 5/5 is really part of my birthday celebration. I love the little salt and pepper shakers, great find!
ReplyDeleteGreat Score ..............
ReplyDeleteI find margharita glasses at Salvation Army for $1.79 but Dollar Tree has the same ones for $1.00.
Kathe, Just love your thrifting finds! My favs are the Mexican S & P's, the amber glass stemware, and red chargers, but everything is great! Who hasn't bought something and then seen it at the dollar store!. My thrift sells lots of dollar items for $2-$5 each. They don't even know, LOL! Sounds like a really fun day!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! You had so much fun and you found so many great items! I love the dishes and glasses and of course looking ahead to the next season/holiday, is something I always do! Oh and I see Dollar items over priced all the time. I try to be 'aware' but have made mistakes like all of us. I am excited about future tablescapes! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you found a ton of treasures. I love them all. Great chargers and dishes and the silver is beautiful. Hugs, Marty

LOVE all the goodies you found! Those little salt and pepper shakers would also be great for taco night! I really have a thing for dishes and I like to take old china and mix the pieces. I think tablescapes are so awesome! Keep on thrifting and scaping and I'll be on the look out for more great posts!

Wow! You really made out! I love thrift stores...garage sales too!
ReplyDelete50%off days are my FAVORITE! great finds, great prices
ReplyDeleteWow! You made out like a bandit! You seriously need to teach me to shop. Typically when I shop I can only concentrate on one thing at a time. You thought of everything! When I saw the picture of your basket my first thought was, I saw those at the dollar tree the other day when buying tissue paper haha. I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I usually hone in on glasses and dishes, then textiles. I should shop where you do.
ReplyDeleteScore! The horse thing is Ah-mazing and those little glass candle holders are awesome. Love it and just a tad jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun thrifting trip! I think the 2 Goodwills in my area have lost their minds - they seriously overprice the furniture. 2 days ago, I saw an old beat up dresser that I thought I could re-do nicely, but it was priced at $199!! And it wasn't even very big! Has anyone else noticed this trend at Goodwill?
ReplyDeleteWell, that's an amazing basket full of good finds! Glad you girls had a good time.
ReplyDeleteI just love Goodwill thrift stores!!! I find clothes there all the time to refashion!

I'm on a thrifty lookout right now for those things I need but don't want to spend a lot for. With your eye I could use your help.

ReplyDeleteSo much stuff ! Sounds like you had a blast! :)
ReplyDeletelove all the great finds love the amber glasses the best come see what I shared at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow, you got some great stuff. Don't feel bad about the Dollar Tree stuff, we've all done things like that. And, you more than made up with your other finds. Our Salvation Army had an empty Old El Paso jar for $1.99 :) Thanks for sharing at Restyled Sundays!
ReplyDeleteLots of finds! I have made a dollar store mistake. I was psyched to be the owner of a calculator watch, knowing it was a cheap knockoff, but still... at least I had one that was ugly & I'd never wear. Got home, Googled it & it was from the dollar store. I paid the same price that I would have paid at the dollar store, but I'd have rather not have had it if it were from the dollar store.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised your Goodwill has such impressive tags. Ours uses grease pencil on everything, besides clothing. They don't price clothing, they stick a coloured tag holder (a thing that would normally hold a price tag) in the clothing that is a coloured coded system that only a seasoned thrifter & the cashier would know the price of.
Wow, you really scored!
ReplyDeleteOh my, you did amazing!!!
