Now that the weather is finally getting warmer, Mr. B & I have been busy trying to get the garage organized.
(Post garage sale mess just adds to the frustration)
While my dream for a new home was for a nice big kitchen, Mr. B wanted a 3-car garage so that he could have a workshop.
Just one problem, a lot of my stuff was in the way. We purchased a small shed for out back for some of my gardening tools but there wasn't enough room for all of it.
Luckily, I heard about the
Rubbermaid® FastTrack Rails and Accessories system!
I headed right down to my nearest Target and picked up a 5-piece kit to try it out. **Good news buddies, this same kit is now on sale at Target for $28.99 (reg. $33.99) from 5/18-5/24**
We picked a spot on the other side of the garage by the back door. Once the hanger bar was installed you simply slide the rack system over it and just place the hooks where you want them.
The only tools needed were a level and a drill driver to screw it into studs.
Even though I had Mr. B install the FastTrack system, it was totally a job I could have done on my own.
There are other hooks and accessories available too so you can customize and rearrange items to meet seasonal needs. Just think, in winter you can keep snow shovels etc. front and center, while moving summer tools to the back. You could also use the system in a mudroom or laundry room. There are so many possibilities really.
We love it so much, we plan on heading back to Target and picking up a couple more kits while they are sale!
Now to be honest, the garage isn't fully cleared up, but thanks to the Rubbermaid FastTrack system, we are making progress!
How about you? Does your garage or storage area need some organizing help? Is the FastTrack system something you could use?

That's a cool system Kathe. We could honestly use some help in our garage as well.... think I will mention this to hubby and see if he gets the idea....
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a garage yet, but this looks definitely like something I would get right away as soon as we settle down in our house!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! My hubby uses them in his shop! Really come in handy! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to get organized. Now that it's warmer we've been trying to clean my sisters garage as well. It's definitely a hard time consuming job.
ReplyDeleteI have to get one of those!
ReplyDeleteAs we've been painting the inside of our house, we first had to clean up and move things around. Lots of stuff just got moved out to the garage, so I really hate to think of the mess I have to tackle in there next! I bet this Rubbermaid stuff would really come in handy for me when I do, though. Thanks for a great review!
ReplyDeleteI would use these if I had a garage! I'm for anything that helps organize!
ReplyDeletehugs!!!
Linda
My garage needs this in every way! It looks like a furniture store in mine!
ReplyDeleteMy garage could definitely use some of these! After sending 90% of my vintage hoard to auction this spring, I thought I'd have plenty of room to spare in our garage; but sadly, that isn't the case... What's a girl to do? Go vertical! Great idea, Kathe!
ReplyDeleteI could use about a dozen of those...
ReplyDeleteOOO! I need these!
ReplyDeleteOur garage is kind of a mess. It's like 50% storage (aka: throw stuff in there that doesn't go anywhere else) and 50% man cave/hang out area. So it's got all kinds of junk.
ReplyDeleteMy garage seriously needs this! It's like a maze in there with all the boxes/storage containers we haven't gone through in years. I guess I know what I need to grab. Thanks for the organization inspiration! This is now being added to my husband's "honey-do" list!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool Kathe. I would love to have garage as big as yours to use it as my art studio lol. And that's definitely a great way to organize tools.
ReplyDeleteOh how cool! I need to swing by the Rubbermaid store and see if I can find it there.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at that system! It looks awesome. Thanks for sharing your review!
ReplyDeleteThose do look like they would be incredibly helpful!!!
ReplyDeleteLove good garage organizers! Makes such a difference in finding what you want and keeping things off the floor. Good luck organizing the rest of your garage!
