Of course I HAD to set a table too as we are hosting the
Canadian Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday in our new home.
I cannot wait to host Mr. B's mom & dad!
In previous years I have chosen to go with a traditional table
This year, I decided to set a less traditional Canadian Thanksgiving Day table.
I haven't unpacked and hung up my tablecloths yet so,
keeping the table bare was a very easy decision!
And I also kept it simple with no chargers or place mats.
I chose to use my pale blue dinner and salad plates at each setting.
Not your usual color for Fall but I felt they were perfect
against the mahogany dining table.
Plain white napkins and our wedding flatware don't distract from the dishes.
The Godinger Shannon goblets always work, whether it be a
traditional or non traditional tablescape.
traditional or non traditional tablescape.
I kept the rest of the table decor in shades of white.
A thrift store pumpkin tureen and a Dollar Tree
pumpkin sit at one end of the table.
While another small pumpkin and leaf salt and pepper
anchor the other end of the table.
For the centerpiece I filled my favorite urn from World Market with clippings from the Purple Sand Cherry bushes that are planted by the front porch.
The color could not be more perfect for Fall and Thanksgiving, don't you think?
There is nothing new on this table. All have been used before and
I am so okay with that. It is so fun to set a table with them in a new and different way in a new and different room.
Now that could all very easily change as, unlike the U.S. Thanksgiving,
all of the stores will be open and there is nothing Mr. B's mother and I like more then hitting Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Ross, and World Market when they come to visit LOL!
We'd like to wish all of our Canadian family & friends
a very Happy Thanksgiving!
See you soon!

We just finished our big dinner and now I'm visiting from Kathy's A Return to Loveliness party. Hope you will stop by and say Hello. Have a beautiful day.

ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving Table looked so beautiful Kathe! I like how you arranged everything.
ReplyDeleteI love your table -- whether traditional or not! You have all the perfect elements for a Thanksgiving table and I think the Canadians have Thanksgiving right -- in October rather than November -- we're so worried about Christmas in America that I think Thanksgiving gets short shrift!
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is so beautiful. I love the brown and blue, gorgeous. Thanks for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteYou have such a great dining room, I've just been waiting for this tablescape! Your table is so pretty, and I agree that sometimes you just have to let gorgeous wood play a big part. Those pale blue dishes look wonderful, and the white is crisp and clean. I wish everyone had two Thanksgivings--one to cook and play hostess and another to just relax.
ReplyDeleteHope your TG dinner was as good as your table looks! Love your new dining room and the blue plates were an unexpected yet very beautiful accent to the table. Loved seeing a fellow CANADIAN TG TABLE at BNOTP! We had our dinner on Sunday and I'm still FULL! LOL
