Buh - Bye Google Reader

Unless you have been living in a cave or under a rock you should know by now that come Monday, July 1, Google Reader is shutting down.

I, personally, have switched over to Bloglovin as my new preferred reader to keep up on all of my favorite blogs.

The process to switch over was super simple and took just minutes. 

You just create a Bloglovin account and in the process it asks if you want to import the blogs you read on Google Reader to your new Bloglovin’ account. Click the button to import and that’s it! Done!

The nice thing about Bloglovin is that it looks very similar to the Google Reader dashboard and is easy to read on my iPad and iPhone too!

So, to make sure you get all of my new posts, head on over and make sure you are following me on Bloglovin right now!

The Perfect Summer Breakfast Buffet

Summer time, to me, not only means fun vacations away from home, it also means visitors from far away. The guest room is prepared as is the guest bath.  But, what about feeding your guests?

Oh sure, you could have bowls, milk and cereal on hand but, why not treat your guests to something special.  I mean, they did travel by car, bus, train or plane to see you, right? 

How about a waffle and crepe breakfast buffet served al fresco?

You could set your table on top of a fun outdoor rug out by the garden first thing in the morning.

For our guests, while I set the table, Mr. B made up a batch of waffles and crepes.

These mixes from World Market could not be any easier to use! 

In just a few minutes you can have gourmet breakfast food to serve.

Speaking of gourmet, I added cute little jars filled with fun fruit spreads such as Mango, Orange Marmalade with Champagne, Lemon Curd, and Black Cherry. And, of course, we had to have the maple syrup in the Maple Leaf bottle!

How cute is that turtle holding the butter?  

And how fun and colorful are the plates?

The red tablecloth over a yellow thrift store cloth really adds some color and pop!

Of course, there has to be drinks!  You could go the boring plain OJ route or,
how about some Blood Orange or Orange, Mango Passion Fruit soda, plain or, mixed with champagne for a new take on a mimosa? And, if you need a kickstart to get your morning going, nothing beats a Bloody Mary amIright?

Things To Do In Missouri #VisitMO @VisitMO

This post brought to you by Missouri Division of Tourism . All opinions are 100% mine.

Mr. B and I do love to travel. The past few years we really haven't been able to get away but, it never hurts to check out different vacation spots, right? We've also talked about doing a road trip at some time so we could explore the unexpected.

Missouri has dozens of world class museums and galleries including the new East Building expansion at the St. Louis Art Museum, opening June 29.  Then there is the St. Louis Science Center.  The Science Center, Grant’s Farm, the City Garden and the St. Louis Art Museum are all free.  One other thing that would be at the very top of our list would be to visit the great outdoors. I'm sure that out of the 51 state parks at least one of them would be perfect for us. If you want to find out more about Missouri like VisitMO on Facebook and follow VisitMO on Twitter.

Thinking about our itinerary I would love to stay in a bread and breakfast and spend the morning of the first day at one of the state parks and do a wine tasting at one of the 100 wineries in town. Then on another day I'd love to check out all the amazing food they are supposed to have in Missouri. Then for the third day I think it would be really interesting to visit Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic location and if we had enough energy hit up one of the dozen or so casinos in Missouri. On the fourth and final day of our trip we would have to check out some of lesser known, off the beaten path, BBQ joints Missouri is known for! What would you do if you had a four day vacation in Missouri? 

You're Gonna Love It - Week 59

Happy Party Day again dear friends!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend?

If you follow me on Facebook then you know that we have had some exciting news to shout out about in the past week.

First, my oldest son and my beautiful daughter-in-law announced that they are expecting their first child in December!  Yes!!  Another sweet lil peanut for me to share photos of and smother with kisses!  I am just so excited for them.  I know that they will be wonderful parents and that baby will be covered in love everyday!

Next, my youngest son asked the beautiful mother of my grandson to be his wife!  She, of course, said yes!  I am beside myself with joy in welcoming her fully into the family.  Now I have two daughters!!  He proposed on the softball field where they met. They are on opposing teams  He called time out, ran to second base where she was and dropped to one knee! After he gave her the ring, he gave her a new jersey to wear with her soon to be new name. Everyone was in tears, tears of joy! 

And finally, news I have not shared on Facebook, Mr. B and I have put our house on the market!!  We are not getting any younger and decided to strike while the iron is hot and move into a single story ranch style home in the area of town we have wanted to live in for years now. Our current two story is just too much for us to keep up with.  We found our dream home and it is now under contract for us to purchase, provided we can sell ours.  The market is hot here now and we have faith that it will sell quickly but, we'd take your prayers if you could please. 

Because we are preparing for the move and, a house to keep clean for showings, you may be seeing a bit less of me in the days to come. 

But, when all is done, be prepared for new posts involving a whole new house to decorate!!  

Whew! Okay now, how about we celebrate all of these happenings with a fun party??
