Sour Cream Raisin Pie Recipe
As I've said before, Mr. B is a pie guy.
Luckily, I like pie too, or rather, I like making pies.
There's something about making the crust, getting the water just right so that it's neither to dry nor too wet, and then rolling it out
into a perfect round, that I thoroughly enjoy.
So, when a couple of weekends ago, during another snowstorm
(are we done yet??),
Mr. B asked if I could make a pie for dessert, I happily agreed.
This recipe is another from his Grandmother.
It is an ooey gooey combination of brown sugar, egg yolks,
sour cream and raisins.
All topped off with a rich meringue.

Sour Cream Raisin Pie
Fully bake a 9" pie crust. Just use your favorite crust recipe or you can use my favorite, found here.
2 egg yolks (keep the whites for the meringue)
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup raisins
Soak the raisins in some warm water for a bit to soften them.
Place all of the ingredients, except the raisins, in a saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, on medium heat until the frothiness disappears.
You'll know it when you see it, trust me.
Drain and add the raisins and pour into the prepared pie shell.
Allow to cool completely before topping with the meringue.
Meringue
2 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon cream of tarter
Beat the egg whites until frothy. Gradually add the sugar and cream of tarter. Continue beating until stiff peaks occur. Top the pie with the meringue.
Place in the oven at 425 degrees for about 4 minutes or until the top is just brown. (Really watch it! It happens quicker than you'd think, just sayin').
Or, if you have one, use a kitchen torch.
Let cool and serve.
I promise, just one slice of this pie and,
you will be licking the fork and plate clean!

You're Gonna Love It - Week 47
Happy new week all!
I hope this finds you well and preparing for Easter.
I think we are keeping it low keyed this year.
A ham with all of the fixin's is on the menu.
Mr. B & I are beyond the coloring of eggs but,
we will have some deviled eggs on the table.
I think we are both just ready for Spring and warmer temperatures to get here!
I KNOW I am ready to party!!
So let's get it started shall we?
~The links were lower last week and I'm not sure why.
I'm hoping I am keeping this party fun each week?
I'll just blame it on everyone being busy?
I have been thinking of moving the party to Friday nights.
Which way do you like it, keep it the way it is or is Friday better?
This is your party, so please let me know in the comments below.~
The most viewed link last week came from sweet Carolynn from
Chenille Cottage
Carolynn shared the most precious cottage guest bedroom filled with
vintage goodness and, of course, chenille! I think I'd have just the sweetest dreams if I got to be a guest at Carolynn's house! Grab and I've Been Featured button from above Carolynn. I love it!!

Office/ Craft Room Update
I have a small update to share with you today.
You may remember a few months ago I created a craft/ office space for myself.
(Keeping it real here, that coleus plant on my desk?
Yeah, it died...as did that laptop...)
Well in the past few weeks I've made a few changes to the room.
Mr. B added a picture hanging hook on the back and I placed it over my desk.
I used a dry erase board I had, a spice rack from World Market and
a cork board from WalMart (4 for under $6.00 and I still have 3 left!)
to fill inside the frame.
I just used 3M Velcro Command Strips to hold them in place.
Well, except for the spice rack, that got screwed in.
I even used a level (patting myself on the back).
Isn't this spice rack perfect for some of my craft paints??
I'm still thinking about what I will add to the upper left side.
I may use my Silhouette Cameo and put a quote there.
Something to do with creativity? Thoughts? Suggestions?
And lastly, check out my new chair! Ikea to the rescue again!
I love how it fits my back perfectly. It's so so comfy!
And, it doesn't look like a traditional office chair which is what I was looking for.
The white? Perfect too!
So, just a few changes but, ones I had been wanting to do
since I put the room together.
I just love spending time in my little creative space!

(Keeping it real here, that coleus plant on my desk?
Yeah, it died...as did that laptop...)
Well in the past few weeks I've made a few changes to the room.
I found an awesome large picture frame on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
How it was originally priced at $190.00 is beyond my comprehension
but, at $19.00, it was just what I was looking for at a price I liked much better!
I had a very small window of opportunity in the weather to spray paint it white.Mr. B added a picture hanging hook on the back and I placed it over my desk.

Biz Stain Fighter~Get Stains OUT!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Biz Stain Fighter for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of my least favorite things about doing the laundry is when I take the clothes out of the washing machine and there are still stains on the clothes! Seriously! Arg! Not only have I wasted my time, I’ve also wasted water and laundry detergent, and that means I’ve wasted money! I wished there was a way to make sure that the stains went away the first time. So, I’ve been searching for a product that will help me do just that. I was so excited to find Biz Stain Fighter. This laundry detergent booster can help me get our clothes clean the first time. Getting stains out is easy too! I can either use the liquid and apply it directly to the stain on the clothing or put a scoop of power in the washing cycle. Easy peasy, right?
Check out this video that shows you exactly what I’m talking about. It’s an amazing product.
Wanna hear another cool thing about Biz Stain Fighter? You can use it on other chores around the home too, not just on your laundry. The powder can be combined with water to make a paste that can be used to clean bath tubs, sinks and more! Use Biz to pre-treat, pre-soak stains and to super-charge your laundry detergents cleaning power, eliminating stains, odors and more. Whether the laundry stain question of the day is how to get out blood stains, food stains, grass stains or how to clean your grout - Biz is THE solution to removing all types of stains. What an awesome all-purpose product!
I know you all love a great deal so here’s a $1 Biz coupon for you. Not sure if your local store sells Biz Stain Fighter? Head over to /www.bizstainfighter.com/buy-now to locate your closest store.
You can also like Biz on Facebook and follow@BizStainFighter on Twitter to find out more information.

Spring Is Here!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of iBulb for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
It's spring and I am finally seeing some signs of it around the yard! I was able to go out the other evening and clean up my back garden a bit. To my utter delight I saw some tulips breakingthrough the still cold ground! Soon, I will see colors such as these below! There is nothing that brightens the day like cut tulips!
My very favorite type of gardening is using bulbs. They are just so easy! In the fall I just dig a hole, drop in some bulbs, cover it back up and wait for warmer, longer days and there they are! It's almost like magic! Tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, lilies, the choices and colors are endless really!
iBulb is the flowering initiative from Anthos, Holland’s Royal Trade Association for Nursery Stock and Flower Bulbs. This foundation was set up in January 2012 to focus on the financing and implementation of three activities that are important for the Dutch flower bulb sector: promotion, technical research and market access. iBulb supports 85 Dutch companies in the dry sales and forcing business, which together represent more than 90% of Holland’s flower bulb business. Learn more at www.ibulb.org.
But bulbs aren't only for using the garden. Potted bulbs are the perfect solution if you forgot to plant your flower bulbs in the fall and are kicking yourself now that you see the daffodils and tulips starting to bloom. Keep them indoors and just repot in your own favorite pot to to bring Spring indoors.
Using thrift store finds, you could create all kinds of wonderful Spring vignettes. Or, maybe, even give some as gifts. Once again, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
