One of the things I always beat into my sons heads as they were growing up was," keep your eye on the prize". What I meant by that was, set goals, keep focused and you will succeed. They have both taken those words to heart and are now successful men and I am so very proud of them.
Now, being a good mama, I never practiced what I preached. Life gave me a tough exterior but, inside, I was a timid little mouse. No confidence. Always second guessing myself. Always anticipating failure.
Then I met Mr. B. He allowed me, nay pushed and shoved me, to become the person I am today. You know the song "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban? Every time I hear that song I cry! Why? It's not just because Mr. B had that song playing in the background as he proposed, cuz he did. It is because it so encompasses how I feel about Mr. B. He has always asked me to ask myself "what do I need to do to make me happy." He was the one that kept telling me I needed to blog. Get my words out there. Stretch myself. Keep my eye on the prize.
When I started this blog I had some unspoken goals in mind. I must say, I am surprised that in just 8 weeks, I have shattered several of them. Now two of my bigger goals are in sight in a much shorter time than I had anticipated, which is a very good thing, right?
One of my goals was to have 100 followers by Christmas. Now I don't go out and beg for followers. That really isn't my style at all. I want you to want to come visit and see what I am up to. Yep that's right, I want nosey followers! As I write this I have 84 new friends! That makes me so very happy. Everyone likes a happy Kath! I have a hunch that I just might actually have 100 followers/ buddies before Thanksgiving.
My other goal was hitting 15,000 page views. I had no frame of reference so I really didn't know when I might achieve that goal. Well if you scroll down to the bottom left of my blog (go on and look, I'll wait......) you will see I am reallyreally close to reaching that goal too!
I so want to thank all of you faithful friends and even those that stop by for a quick visit so, I am going to have a GIVEAWAY. Once both of those goals are reached the giveaway will begin. Now one may come way before the other but, if you believe, like I do, they will happen. I don't know what the giveaway will entail as yet but I do know I will make it fun and exciting for you my friends.
