8 Chicken Wing Recipes For The Big Game

The top 8 recipes for chicken wings for the Big Game! #superbowl #wings #wingrecipes
If you have been following me for any length of time you know we are big football fans in this house.  We are very loyal to our boys in the Blue & Orange and we were pretty disappointed that they aren't playing in the Big Game this year. Never fear, we will still get together with friends and watch the game! Our favorite finger food for watching the Big Game are wings!  Bone-in, boneless, baked, fried, sweet, or spicy, heck, we'll even eat them if they are made healthier, you just can't go wrong with setting a few trays of wings out!  With that in mind, 8 of my bloggy buddies offered up some of their very favorite wing recipes for me to share with you today so you can be ready for some football!

Welcome to another week of linking up to the You're Gonna Love It Link Party!

It has been a crazy busy week for me, actually, the whole month of January has been busy! I have been baking, cleaning and blogging everyday! So far, it appears that February *might* be a bit calmer but really, I am enjoying being busy! How about you?  If you are one of my many friends back east, I am sure you are busy shoveling all of that "historic" snow! Stay warm and safe my friends!

SNICKERS, Skittles & Starburst Big Game Day Cake

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. As always, all opinions are mine alone. #BigGameTreats #CollectiveBias

Create the perfect fun cake for the Big Game with SNICKERS, Skittles and Starburst Candy!
Just because our favorite team didn't make it to the big game, (insert sad face) it doesn't mean we won't be watching, if only for the commercials!  We will be gathering with friends and everyone will be expected to bring food and snacks. Our neighbor is in charge of smoking some ribs, someone else will bring wings, and there will be chips and dips galore.
I decided I would contribute a fun, Big Game Day Cake, using SNICKERS®Skittles®, and Starburst®.
Create the perfect fun cake for the Big Game with SNICKERS, Skittles and Starburst Candy!
List in hand, I headed to Walmart for my supplies. The SNICKERS, Skittles & Starburst are all found in the same aisle.  SNICKERS in the chocolate candy section and just a bit down, I found the Skittles & Starburst right next to each other in the bagged candy section of the aisle!  Score!

Now, on to the cake making!
SNICKERS, Skittles, & Starburst Big Game Cake
To make it easy on myself, so that I can also enjoy the big game, I bought a vanilla cake mix, a tub of vanilla frosting, some green food coloring and can of cupcake icing with decorating tips.
SNICKERS, Skittles, & Starburst Big Game Cake
I baked the cake per the instructions on the box.  While it cooled, I emptied the tub of icing into a bowl and added the green food coloring until it was as grassy green as I wanted it to be. After icing the cake with the frosting, I delicately striped on the yardage lines with the cupcake icing using the smallest tip. (Okay, maybe not as delicately as I would have liked, but our friends are just going to dive into this cake no matter how uneven the lines are)
My mother-in-law then made up the goalposts using yellow pipe cleaners from my craft stash.
Create the perfect fun cake for the Big Game with SNICKERS, Skittles and Starburst Candy!
We then sorted out some Skittles and Starburst candy for the colors of the teams playing in the Big Game. I cut some SNICKERS and they became the field judges aka referees. We added more of the candies at each end zone to represent the fans.

I really like how it turned out and I know it is going to be the hit of the party! C'mon, wings, chips and dip are the usual for the big game, but a cake like this? Everyone loves #BigGameTreats, am I right?

Now that I've shared my my game day treat with you I want to hear what you plan on making for the Big Game! Just leave a comment below.

Master Closet Makeover On A Budget

*I was compensated by Wayfair.com for this post with a gift card, however, all  opinions and ideas are my own*

Since I am not working, I have one day a week on my schedule where I don't clean but instead, pick a project to take on. Having only lived here a little over a year and it being a newer home, there really aren't that many "projects" but there a few. A few weeks ago, that project was our master closet.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Having a true walk-in closet is awesome!  But, it can also be a dumping ground if you don't have the right organizational tools. I was lucky enough to be given the challenge to right this wrong with some closet organizing inspiration when Wayfair.com asked me to take part in their Conquer Your Closet Campaign! And being me, I wanted to do it as cheaply as possible.

You can see by the collage, our master walk-in closet was a jumbled mess. Mr. B's shoes all sat on the floor.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
 And the top shelf?
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Neither of us even remembered what was in the baskets and those shoe boxes should have been tossed as they were empty (found that out when I went to clear everything off the shelf).
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Not that my side was any neater!  I did have a shoe rack shoved back in the corner but, it wasn't big enough to hold all of my shoes so...yeah...there they are (cue embarrassment).
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Can you see the shoe rack now?
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
My upper shelf was as bad as Mr. B's!  Crap just pushed up there to get it out of the way.
Lucky me!  I get 2 upper shelves to fill with who knows what!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
I lied!  I get 3 shelves!  Ugh!  Time to conquer this closet!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
First up, I took some measurements and then went shopping.  I got two of these shoe racks from Wayfair.com that each hold up to 15 pairs of shoes.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Next were 3 of these canvas storage bins

Now to get to work! I tackled Mr. B's side first.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Putting together the shoe rack was easy peasy.  A couple of whacks with a rubber mallet and it was done.  His shoes are now up off the floor and take up so little space!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
So much room I was even able to move the laundry basket over by the door so it's not the first thing you see!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
I used the canvas storage bins for his sweaters, collectible (?) t-shirts and his sweatshirts. I plan on making up some tags so that he knows just what is in each bin. I would have loved to have taken down that bar running across the top. The previous owner used it to hang all of her purses on.  I attempted the task but...umm...the previous owners were not very handy and when trying to take the screws out I found that I would also be taking a big chunk of drywall with it.  I'm leaving that one for Mr. B to figure out.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Now, for my portion of the closet, my mother-in-law and I moved the pant rack up a few inches and moved my lingerie dresser under it. It is a much better use of space and it was her idea too!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Remember those empty shoe boxes from the before?  Well, I covered them with some blingy silver scrapbook paper I had on hand and they now hide my evening bags!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Thrifty and pretty! I even reused the purple storage bins I already had for some books etc. that I don't need to get to often.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
I used the rest of my existing bins on the other shelf for my sweaters and other "out-of-sight" storage.
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
By moving my lingerie chest, I was able to use the other shoe rack for my favorite shoes.  I see I even have a spot for another pair of sandals!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
And, I put the shoes I rarely wear (some are for gardening or general shlepping around the house) on my old shoe holder in the corner.  It's kind of hard to tell but they are much easier to get to now!
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
Remember the before?
Master Closet Makeover On A Budget
It took a few hours but I am soooo happy with the results!  The shoe racks and the canvas bins from Wayfair.com really helped to reign in the disorganization going on and kept me under my tight budget for this project.  I feel victorious in the Conquering My Closet challenge!! Be sure to visit Wayfair.com for more inspiration! How about you?  Have I inspired you to Conquer YOUR closet?

Let It Snow Tablescape~2015 Edition

If you have been with me awhile you may remember the Let It Snow tablescape I set a few years back when we were in our other house.
One of my gifts this past Christmas was a set of dishes from my mother-in-law. She found them at her favorite thrift store and just knew I would love them. She was right!  I do! So, I had to set a new Let It Snow tablescape to show them off to you.

The set came with a dinner plate, dessert plate, bowl and mug.  Aren't they precious?

She was >< this close to keeping them for herself as she loves snowmen but knew that I would love to set a table with them.

Luckily, I had saved out some snowflakes from the Dollar Tree before Mr. B put all of the Christmas decor bins back up in the garage.

I scattered a few in different sizes around the table.

Silver candlesticks from IKEA resemble icicles don't they?  Fire and ice!

I just love this special gift of dishes from my dear friend and mother-in-law. I know that she loved watching me create this special tablescape with something given from her heart.
