This post is sponsored by World Market on behalf of their Halloween Book of Life Sweepstakes. All opinions are always my own.
You may remember a few years back, I hosted my witchy friend, Griselda's, Birthday party. I was kind of hoping with the move that Griselda would not be able to find me and we would have a quiet Halloween this year. Oh she is a crafty one! It took her a year but she gazed into her crystal ball and located our new home. She cast a spell upon me and I found myself, once again, celebrating her birthday. Luckily, her ghoulfriends were unable to attend on such short notice and it was a relatively peaceful affair.
I stuck to her favorite colors, orange and black, and was able to set a pretty festive table to celebrate her 2,042nd birthday.
She once again brought along some of her "pets". Max found a safe spot so as not to have to "play" with them! That rat of hers is the worse for biting his short tail!
While in my trance I headed over to World Market to purchase some of the decor. World Market is all decked out for Halloween and I was able to dress the table just as Griselda likes it. A bit of elegant with some creepiness thrown in.
The pumpkin bakers and the placemats fit perfectly with the dishes and china I had on hand. Griselda thought the black rose on the salad plates was so beautiful.
She said the flatware looked like shiny bones! Um...not what I was going for but I played along so as not to be turned into a toad or something worse!
She fell in love with the Spellbook treat jar from World Market. She said she would be filling it with her favorite snakeskin candies. Sounds yummy!
(Shiver) Her furry spider, Henry, brought along his big webbed egg full of, what he called, "future babies". Ugh!
Griselda asked to take the name your poison tumblers home with her. Something about entertaining some former boyfriends...I didn't ask!
I thought I was pretty creative in taking the napkins and forming them into witches hats! Griselda thought they were cute too.
She said that the candle holders really suited her.
I think the old gal even cracked a smile!
Even though she had me under her spell, I was able to craft a table ghoulishly suited for her birthday. In fact, as she left, she said she couldn't wait to see what I come up with next year! I need to tell Mr. B that we are moving again...
