I found these platters for under $3.00 each at Party City and knew they would be the perfect charger!
I then layered our everyday white Corelle dinner plates, a blue clear salad plate I had purchased for 25 cents each at the thrift store and a patriotic bowl from the dollar spot at Target from a few years ago.
Mason jars will be used to drink from and instead of the more formal placing of the flatware, I chose to place a paper napkin in the jar and then nest the flatware in the napkin.
I filled an apothecary jar with sparkly red basket filler and added flags and red, white & blue star picks. I re-used the painted Ragu Spaghetti Sauce jars I had painted and decorated a few years ago for this table.
I added some silver sparkly finds from Party City at each end and the table was complete.

ReplyDeleteHey Kathe! I'm so enjoying seeing all the Fourth of July tables, as I work on mine. Each one has a different feel and yours here really channels the fireworks celebratory feel. I think it's the red sparkly basket filler and the silver sparkly weights, as well as the stars bursting from the glass holder that do the trick. It's both fun and unique. Nicely done... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove this table! I have a few of the same elements, including some of those cute little Target bowls! Enjoy your first 4th in your new home. Hope you get to see those fireworks from your new de

ReplyDeleteI love those chargers, Kathe! It's great to see your mixtures of good deals and how pretty they look together. You've proven it doesn't take a big budget to make a tablescape look festive and beautiful. Those painted Ragu jars are my favorite thing on your table! Hmm...spaghetti anyone? :-)
