And the skies are gray...
(ear worm! ear worm!)
Here is what we woke to this fine fall morning:
And here is the view from my office at work:
This not a black and white photo. It is just that gray and dreary here today.
Winter, my friends, is here.
Which means, we really didn't have a fall here in the Colorado Rocky Mountain area.
It may not be fall outside but, by golly, it can be fall inside right??
Heck yeah!
The Halloween decor has been packed away and the house looks like an autumn tree exploded in it LOL!
This is the front entry table with some of the ceramic pumpkins I have collected over the past few years, bought on sale and on clearance.
This is the front entry table with some of the ceramic pumpkins I have collected over the past few years, bought on sale and on clearance.
I love the Happy Harvest plate that is new this year from Hobby Lobby (50% off of course). It's kind of an homage to Mr. B's roots of growing up on a farm.
The stairway is decorated with garland from the Dollar Tree and wisps of fall toned faux grass I tied up with twine and hot glued some leaves onto.
Of course, I had to do up a fall tablescape too!
The tablecloth is a recent find from Burlington Coat Factory. I had totally forgotten that BCF has awesome home goods in addition to clothes! The colors are just perfect for fall! And that paisley pattern <swoon> that just sealed the deal there!
I layered a gold charger with $1.00 "as is" over sized plates from Ikea and then my go to red salad plates. The green napkins (.25 each from Goodwill) are tied with a piece of twine and topped with a faux leaf. The flatware was purchased with a gift card received by joining the Cost Plus World Market Explorer club.
The centerpiece is more fall garland wrapped around a vase filled with leaves and a candle (that is actually raised by a shot glass in the vase LOL). I "borrowed" the rustic candlesticks from the entry table, wrapped with some berry garland and topped with rust colored candles I have had forever.
And of course, I can't do the table and not do the buffet!
The Green mercury glass candle goblets were another find at Burlington Coat Factory at only $4.99 each! They can be used for other seasons/ holidays too so I think they were a must have (am I justifying well here?)! And Mr. Pheasant (or grouse as Mr. B refers to him) once again has a starring role, front and center.
The large amber plate is from a box lot I won at an auction we attended last spring.
Max even let me dress up the table that covers his hiding place
With only 22 days until Thanksgiving and 53 days until Christmas I am happy to have a bit of fall around me, even if it is blowing snow and only 27 degrees outside right now!

ReplyDeleteHi Kathe. Everything looks so pretty and inviting and fallish! I really like your idea of the grass bunches and leaves on the staircase. I agree with you - don't look out the window and you'll never know that winter has arrived. ;o) Take care.
