A quick trip Michael's, coupons in hand of course, and I had my supplies.
I started by painting the wooden oval block all white, except for the edges.
I then painted the bird house a robin egg blue, with some white craft paint to give it an icy cold look. Finally, I painted the roof and edges bright white with just a touch of gold on the tip of steeple.
Once it was all dry I I hot glued the bird house, the tree and the figure all to the board and then slathered the roofs and edges and the wooden block with Mod Podge and sprinkled the frosted snow all over.
The puppy and the squirrel make me think of Max.
This was such an easy project I can see making more and creating my own DIY Christmas village!
How about you? Have you started on your Christmas projects yet?

ReplyDeleteVery cute. I am going to try to start some Christmas projects this weekend (after I get a couple of fall tablescapes ready for posting next week). Your birdhouse reminds me of the little Putz glitter houses. I bought some glitter and I already have every thing else to make myself a half a dozen of cute little glitter houses ready and waiting for me to have the time and inspiration. I do still need to run up to Walmart to buy some white bottle brush trees for the finishing touches. Thank you for sharing this post and helping me to get inspired!
