I am still in big time
defunktifying organizational mode!
This past week I attacked the cupboards
and drawers in our master bathroom.
This is my side.
There were numerous empty bottles
of various different lotions, makeup,
soaps, etc.
I took everything out and was left with
a dirty icky cupboard.
Even after wiping it out
there was some grungy something in the back
that wouldn't come clean so,
I made a trip to Big Lots
and got some contact paper for $2.00 a roll!
The Dollar Tree is right next store to Big Lots
so I also picked up two small bins.
I measured and cut the contact paper
and laid it down.
Tip: once you have it down and
have gotten as much of the air bubbles
out that you can,
wipe it down with a damp sponge.
It lays it down flat with no air bubbles at all!
Here is a nice and blurry after photo.
I was able to thin everything out
and everything fit into the bins I had purchased.
I did the same to the three drawers that go down the middle
of the two cabinets.
And, with some extra bins I already had
I was able to clean our Mr. B's side too.
(The icky looking back piece there is some spare
drywall a previous owner put up
to hide some sketchy plumbing work.
It will be replaced when we can afford new cabinets.
Yeah, it bugs me too).
Cost of this project, $3.00 and, another 10 poundsish of
trash out to the bin!
This old house is getting lighter and lighter!
I actually only used one roll of the
contact paper.
I will be using it when I do
the guest bath and under the kitchen sink.
I am hoping that by the time I do
score a new job, I can open any cupboard or walk
into any room and know it's been certifiably de-funktified!

And don't forget to come by on Tuesday's
for the link party.

That looks so nice, and what a treat to be able to quickly find what you need! I so need to do that, I have so much junk that was left behind when my younger girls left home, tons of bath and beauty products, not to mention all my own mess.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now you are really making me feel guilty about my cupboards and crapola rooms!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathe!
ReplyDeleteI love it when my cupboards and drawers are all organized. They just never seem to stay that way :/ You sure are on a roll! Your house will certainly "holiday ready" this year. Are you expecting company?
xoxo Bunny Jean
I wish that watching you get organized would get me motivated. Instead of organizing, I working on tablescapes.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it feel good. I did mine a year ago and it still makes me happy. Yours looks fabulous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love to organize so why don't I do it more often?? Great job!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I'm a big fan of organization and I need to clean out my cabinet above the toilet. It has three large shelves and boy is it a mess! You have just inspired me to do some de-cluttering. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great job Kathe!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a fabulous week!

ReplyDeleteLooks great - I used the sticky backed paper to put in my kitchen cupboards!
ReplyDeleteI need to do this in our cupboards! I am afraid of what I might find! Thanks for sharing on Tout It Tuesday! Hope to see you next week.
ReplyDeleteFound you at what's cooking! Love!
ReplyDeleteOh boy you have just made think how slack i am this is such and easy thing to do
ReplyDeleteContact paper is the best. Great job. Also with the bubble you can't get out, prick them with a pin and run a credit card around it. Works for me :)
ReplyDeleteYea for organization. I love seeing how different people can make a space so much more useful. Great job. I'd love to have you link this up to Titus 2 Tuesday on Cornerstone Confessions too. Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I just found your site. Love your name too. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been doing the same for the last few weekends and it's a great feeling. Love knowing the "icky" stuff is gone, and that light and airy feeling is always appreciated. I plan to tackle the bathroom cabinets tomorrow after I finish restoring the sewing room back to it's former useful purposes. It had become a storage room full of finds and project stuff, but I did some major clean out in there today. Hope my bathroom organization turns out even half as well as your did!
